After installing the software and following these steps, you’ll be able to update your Black Berry to the latest device software. Connect your Black Berry smartphone to your Mac computer via USB. On your Mac computer, in the Applications folder, click Black Berry Desktop Manager. Click on Backup at the top of Black Berry Desktop Software and follow the instructions. You can update the Black Berry Device Software and other device applications to use new features that are available in the most current version. Connect your Black Berry smartphone to your Mac computer. On your Mac computer, in the Applications folder, click Black Berry Desktop Manager. Click the Applications icon at the top of the screen. – To back up and restore third-party applications while updating device applications, select the Back up and restore third-party applications check box. Click Start or Downgrade (if you are returning to a previous version of the application). This will insure that all of your data is backed up prior to proceeding with the update. Click the Applications icon at the top of the screen. In the list of available applications, select the check box beside one or more applications.
Black Berry Link is easy to set up, and you'll be prompted to download the software when you first connect your Black Berry 10 device to your computer.

If you receive the message that no updates are available after clicking on the Check for updates button, you may still be able to find software for your smartphone by visiting the software download site for your carrier.
Please note: Until the update is complete, you will not be able to use your Black Berry smartphone.
